I called my parts guy at the local AGCO dealership yesterday to order some fan belts for my 8050, he said as of September 30th AGCO is going through a re-structuring and will not take orders for 5 to 21 days...pretty freaking sad. Anybody else hear anything about this prior to them just basically closing the doors?

Interesting Post.  Here is what hot gossip I could find out:  It happened on Tuesday Sept 29.

AGCO (NYSE:AGCO) disclosed a restructuring program Tuesday in response to increased weakening demand in the agriculture industry, including a ~6% reduction of the company's salaried workforce.

AGCO (AGCO) said the initial phase of the program will focus on further reducing structural costs, streamlining its workforce and enhancing global efficiencies related to changing its operating model for certain corporate and back-office functions and better leveraging technology and global centers of excellence.

The company estimates it will incur $150M-$200M in charges for one-time termination benefits related to the first phase of the program, consisting mostly of cash charges related to severance payments, employees benefits and related costs, to be incurred in 2024 and H1 2025.

Once fully implemented, AGCO (AGCO) expects the first phase will yield $100M-$125M in annual run-rate benefits and cost savings.

The restructuring program follows AGCO's (AGCO) reported Q1 drop in sales and earnings, as global demand fell in the agricultural equipment industry.

The dealer we deal with sent out a letter in June or July announcing the black out. They had an incentive to pre order parts.  Talked to another dealer they increased their inventory in preparation and they heard other dealers did as well.  Parts are available for down machines it’s just a very painful process.  Its condensed to a 2 week circus.

Same here. Local dealers put out the info in June .  Was in there Friday and said they could put orders in on Monday but couldn’t say when they would receive them.

I knew about the upcoming parts shut down a month ago, but didn't hear about the layoffs until now.

I would thought AGCO would have planned this after everyone would been almost done harvesting crops , mid November. No way a dealership can order everything, that reason for parts warehouses.

The problem is North America is far from Agco's biggest sales region, so who cares if it screws anybody here. Looking at the 2025 shareholder report(i do own some Agco stock) North American sales were $1.6 Billion, South America was $1.1 Billion, and Europe/Middle East was $6.7 billion.

AGCO has been telling dealers for well over 6 months, unfortunately the people who make these decisions only work on calendar years for reports to stock holders.  It was pushed as far as possible and came down to Q4.  IF your dealer was not prepared that is on them, we put in a huge order to make sure we are as prepared as possible for the shut down.  Has been a week and really not ran into an issue yet.  Is it a pain definitely, but for most part dealers are working with us and moving inventory around to keep customers going.

As for online, I just looked on AGCOpartsbooks.com and if you search by model I was able to get several models of AC tractors and Gleaner combines.  But I do agree that the drop downs are horrible, they do not even have some of the current products let alone the heritage brands.  BUT alwasy been able to find them by search feature

That article on layoffs looks like it is from 2024?   I have not heard of any mass layoffs at this time.

im4racin,  I will give you that one.  I can not find it either, but I have not had to look up E parts in 10 years.  It is even a challenge to find E on the dealer site, those early models did not digitalize well.

It's harvest season wouldn't the company be concerned that if a farmer needed parts that the dealer wasn't able to stock. If you tell a farmer it may be 21 days to get a part and then we don't know how soon it will be available there could be another colored machine in his fields and the Agco machine takes a huge hit in value.

It took me a bit, but I was able to find Gleaner E and E-3 combine parts book. Go clear over to the right of the page to "select model" and after several questions (harvesting/combines/gleaner) I got there.
