80R mower

Looked at a 80R mower today. Was told it came off a D14 or D15. I am guessing to make sure I would need to measure the hitch width to see if it matches my D14 hitch frame. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Looks just like the mower my neighbor has on his WD45. I could compare the two measurements to see if they are different.

The D14 frame mount is 9 7/8”, the WD/45 is 13”. Hopefully the gentleman will decide to sell it. I didn’t measure it but after looking at my neighbors WD it appears to be the narrow width. Hopefully I will know in a couple of days.

The gentleman changed his mind and decided to sell the mower. Pick it up next week. Another piece of AC history coming home with me. Hasn’t been run in 24 years but it has been in a shed that entire time and was serviced before stored.

Thanks Tracy, I love my 82S on my D17, but would like this one for my smaller D14 for pasture mowing with some tight areas. Main reason is just to have another piece for a snap coupler tractor, after all it will fit the D17 also.

I have a 82S on my D14. I've made a bracket, added a hydraulic cylinder and plumbed it into the main lift cylinder so the bar will lift vertical all with the same lift lever. I've tied up the rear lift arms. Will text or email pictures to anyone but too difficult to post here. Also you could PM me on Facebook. 

Not much paint left but it’s in decent condition. Has the rear pto for the conditioner which I doubt I will use. My 82S setup is better for that. Spent today greasing and oiling things up. I took the mount to my machine shop to have a repair done. It is missing the spring anchor that bolts to the tractor so I will have to get that fabricated. Otherwise, looking forward to be mowing with it in a few weeks.

I’m new to the 80R. Can someone tell me if the pins at the hitch where the mower frame attaches, are supposed to turn when the mower is raised and lowered? I would think they should but mine appears to be frozen in place if they are supposed to rotate with the mower. Haven’t put any force to it until I found out. If a wedge pin(which mine is missing)is used to pin the shaft against the frame then I would think it would need to rotate.
