Selling in illinois is white top roto baler with overdrive. Less than 1000 made. Leftovers from discontinued number 10 production

Supposedly AC had a bunch of parts made (OD boxes, frames, etc.) to support #10 production but when the #10 turned out to be a flop, they made "regular" balers but with the OD gearboxes. I have one. It will be interesting to see what this one sells for... assuming everything turns, it's in about the same condition as mine. However mine doesn't have all of the shields over the beater.

Not sure what it will bring but pretty sure i know where it is going to end up. I get that one then the only things missing are a self propelled and lubeen original. Would love to find a hansen bale loader but not luck on that one.

Id look a little closer at that baler and get a serial number before you get aggressively bidding on it. Its clearly been repainted, the roof was originally painted orange and it looks to me like it has the regular axle underneath it. I think its a late 50s fast wrap baler.
As far as the leftovers balers, Id have to research it but I think there was 250 of those fast wrap white tops built. Some were even #10s that were taken back in and had the #10 parts removed, were given new serial numbers and were repainted.

I agree it has had some work done. It has a fast wrap on it but if you look at the gearbox, there is a delete plate on the right side rather than the pulley, that is on a converted number 10.
I already asked the auctioneer for more pictures. I will make sure you get some. Aleays appreciate your feedback

I still have the Roto Baler with the overdrive set up on it that looks like the unit and gearbox all intact,you're welcome to get any parts you need off it if you are down to VA any time

Im pretty sure that the factory converted #10s had that pulley and shaft removed, but I could be wrong. All the #10s that were brought back in to the dealer were supposed to be converted to fast wrap machines obviously still have the pulley. Im surprised at how many of these still pop up on occaision yet.
Im curious to see what the serial number is on this one. Full disclosure, I have no interest on bidding on this baler but always like seeing how they were equipped and when they were built.

I was not clear. It was my understanding that if it was a factory conversion, there was a delete plate on the right side of the gear box to eliminate the pulley and the roof was white. If it was a dealer conversation the shaft with the pulley on the right side of the gear box remained and the roof was orange. I did ask the auctioneer to get us some more pictures

Explain the overdrive, we used 2 rotobalers when I was a kid, (1of them still in the barn), and neither had overdrive. Whats the advantage or benefit?

The overdrive speeds the gearbox 2x when wrapping the bale.
