I’m needing the intermediate shifting shaft. If anyone has one for sale I would greatly appreciate it. Number 5 on the callout for parts diagram of the shift tower. Thank you in advance

Have made that exact part a couple of times in the past. 4140, or 4340 Alloy steel will offer enough surface "toughness" without heat treat to last. Have a machinist bore the shift handle, (#6) round and bush this with oilight bronze, or drill and tap your new shaft, (pivot pin) for a grease zerk, and cross drill for grease path keeping it tended to. While the shift lever is out always a good idea to have the lands where the pivot screws butt against cleaned up also. Makes for a nice tight shifter again as long as the shifting forks and shafts are in good condition. These always need touched up also as wear items.

The whole shift lever is missing haha. My issue is that I’m not sure I can get one machined without precise measurements of one first.

No real idea as time and materials would be in play. Realistically probably $350 - $400 is in the ballpark. I have a good piece/pattern to follow. Have never made one complete as you need but have rebuilt several.
Before putting much into this tractor I'd suggest you manually get into each gear and operate it. You can do this by moving the shift forks with a pry.
Seen a lot of 'Starry Eyed" auction, and sale purchases over the years reveal underlying buget busting problems underneath requiring wheelbarrows rather than shovelfulls of money to fill the pit.

Little back story here, it was parked up about 40 years ago and I bought it for 600 bucks and I honestly didn’t have the equipment to pull it out of there so as the mechanic I am I got it running an drove it out of the hole it was stuck in. The only thing I need to do now is replace some hydraulic lines and free up steering clutches. I did try and shift in all the gears hand itinerary shifts pretty smooth and they all grab

Dont have the parts list handy - is that the part that fits into shift tower and has shift lever clamp to it ?
The part that actually moves the shift rails in trany - ball type end and , pivot point center and round shaft through shift boot

Yes, its the lower shaft that actually sit inside the transmission and has a big oval hole through it which is where the bushing goes. I will see if i can add a picture

My PDF version of the HD5/6 transmission parts book shows that as being called the "LEVER, shift" and is P/N 7086705.
I put about 40 hours into rebuilding that part on my Son-in-laws HD5G, mostly by brazing and hand filing; I documented it on a thread several years ago. It would be quite a challenge to fabricate one from scratch.
The intermediate shaft is something else entirely.
