Cora (12) is on the 4H shotgun team this year. They're shooting clays from a stationary thrower. They have a district tournament coming in about 6 weeks where she'll shoot, I think, 2 rounds of 25 birds each. She's on the junior team so she'll have to hit 16 out of 25 to qualify for the state tournament. She's had 3 practices. The first practice she hit 1 out of about 12. Second practice she shot 2 rounds of 25 and hit 6 the first round and 7 the second round. Today she shot 2 rounds and hit 18 of 25 and 16 of 25. She grinned from ear to ear when I told her 18.

Now for Evie (14), she is part of a trio at school that went to literary meet last week. It's a district competition for singing, acting, and dancing. Her trio won first so she's headed to a state tournament with the trio. She's also headed to the state competition with FFA in poultry judging after placing 6th out of 300 or so in the district. And finally, she's playing Mary Poppins in the high school play in about 6 weeks. This is her second lead role in her freshman year which, I think, means she has lettered in theatre. Pretty proud daddy here.

Way to go, Cora! Keep practicing and you’ll do great.
Tyler, you and Danielle are doing a great job of raising your girls. And you have a right to brag, I am very proud of all of you.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.
