TSC has the best deal locally on parts washer solvent.
Curious how it compares to regular mineral Spirits?
I bought some several years back at TSC and it seemed weak but I have no idea what the brand it was or weather it’s the same as what they carry now.
I like that I can buy at TSC without going to the city.

Is ‘Stoddard Solvent’ still available nowadays?
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Hey Thad,,,,You know,,this became a sort of a mystery in this neck of the woods,,,,,,
We have been taking the dogs to "Run" on the big grassy area just west of the Walmart in Berryville. It's not fenced but they seem to be satisfied to stay within the area and they will run sometimes for as long as i hour,  One afternoon the three dogs ran off the edge of the field and were not visible for about 15 minutes,,,,so we walked towards the area we last seen them and imagine our surprise at seeing a brand new Tractor Supply Store with 7 or 8 cars parked outside,,,,,,,,!!!!!
This brand new store is NOT visible from Walmart and there is STILL not a sign or anything at the turnoff from Hiway 62,,,,!!!!
After loading up the animals,,we drive around Walmart and drove to this new store and asked the people how long the store had been open as NO ONE seems to know about it even being there!!!
The manager told us that TSC did not do that sort of advertising,,,just depending on "Word Of Mouth",,,,,????
 Sure glad it's there,,,Tho....
TSC aso building a new store in  Pea Ridge,,,,,,,with no sign at that store either,,,,,??

Yes I’ve seen it but not yet been in. I like that it’s on our side of town so makes a quick trip there.
Looks like one of the bigger ones.
I still like the one in Cassville. A couple older ladies work there and I like to pick at them.

Stoddard solvent is still available in central Illinois. I use mineral spirits in my Graymills washer but no longer heat it although works much better warm.

Hopefully the wackos are not as bad where you are as here in the Land of Fruits and Nuts. The neighbor doing engine machining had a home built hot soaking tank big enough for 2 or 3 automotive engines at a time. After years of trying different cleaning agents in his tank, only to be told cannot sell that to you in California. He was using Tide laundry soap. With longer soak times and cheaper price than many things he was happy with the results. Because being a Scotsmen, price was always important, but never at the expense of not being what he thought was correct, may the fussy O'l guy RIP.

I don't have any problems myself but am rural. I use caustic soda in the hot washer cabinet for iron and ferrous metal cleaning, and a high alkaline cleaner for aluminum. One can still get methylene chloride paint stripper and I still use it but not as much as days gone by.
