Recently bought a 7040 ps. Have 2 wd45 and a wd so this is a large step up.
The manual is a bit confusing as it states to depress or disengage the pedal to check the clearance between lever and plunger. To me this has opposite meanings. Some of you may laugh but I looked and depressed meaning is an emotion and nothing else. Anyway I found Docs explanation and I would like a clarification. The pedal should be up and you will need to push the plunger in with a screwdriver and measure the clearance. Is this correct? Then set accordingly. Also can you look at the picture and tell me anything you see wrong with the lever linkage that pushes it into 4th gear. It rests on bolt head when you release the pedal thereby stopping the pedal from completely returning. When I look down from the top it seems that the linkage wants to put it there even if there was no slop which there is. Just. Wondering if it is worn or is something assembled wrong.thanks for your time. I see I will have to look for a post on pictures. Pictures to follow. I see how to upload I need to Change file size. OK figured out the issue with as I will call it the kick down lever. PO did not have it mounted correctly. The back bolt wasn't in the hole so it it was canted lower in the front catching the bolt head. Hopefully no damage done.
