I'm having a problem hooking up a spring. It's part of the twine wrap mechanism. It hooks behind the big gear on the left side. I raised the stop the twine tube sets on, and when the tube fell down about the middle of the baler, it was closer to hooking, but I still was not man enough to stretch it and hook it.

It's been near 20 years since I used a Roto-Baler, however I've never had any problems hooking any of the springs. I'd need a picture to know just which one you're referring to then I could look in the parts book. Are you trying a proper spring or just one you got from a farm store?

It is the proper spring, I also have a picture of it from the parts manual, but have no idea how to post pictures on this forum. I posted the question with the picture on the Roto Baler Facebook page. I think I might be able to hook it if I could get the twine arm to fall all the way down across the baler.

I don't bother with flakebook. If you need to cycle the arm to the outside of the baler, remover the drive belt and turn the pully to position the arm where you want it. To post pictures here, follow the simple instructions in the member control panel area, but first resize your picture to something like 700X500 pixels.

Images can be added to your posts, if the forum administrators have allowed uploading of images you can use this to upload an image from your own computer into your message. However, if image uploading is not available then you will need to link to the image that needs to be stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.mysite.com/my-picture.jpg.
I don't consider that simple instructions.
