Our 7060 was bought new by my grandpa. It started out as the big tractor then moved down to the planting/ grain cart tractor. Then moved on to the spraying tractor. Know it's our hay mowing and baler tractor. 20250514_151835.jpg

I wish I still had mine. I didn't get it new though. Bought it used, at night, for cash at a dealer that didn't have a sign or building on his lot. Looking back it seems a little shady. I was just getting started and the 7060 was big enough to do tillage and small enough to run rakes and the small balers. Life changed and I sold it about 20 years ago but now that I'm helping my brother with his farm and starting to do some in partnership with him it would be nice to still have it.

It's hard to believe that tractor is 51 years old and still getting the job done. It mows and bales all our hay. I highly doubt any of the new ones will be 50 years old and still getting it done!

If you follow the no-till path, that tractor can run the show again. No need to pull plows, rippers, and so on.

ToddnwIL, I like your maroon belly 7060 at work photo. Thanks for sharing it & it’s background. That must have been a major purchase back when? Did your Grandpa ever discuss its purchase’s details??? Trade-ins? Price? Package priced with a plow? FC?,etc?.
What tillage width did it pull?
How many row planter?
How many bushel grain cart?

When Dad sold them new, they were almost always the "big tillage" tractor on the farm. Times change.

Grandpa bought it new in the fall of 1974. From Morrison implement in morrison illinois. He paid a little over 20 grand for it. They pulled a 11ft glenco chisel with it. Then a 17ft kewanee disk. When it became the planting tractor they pulled a 600 series allis planter with 78 series row units. Then we bought a new 12 row 8000 series planter. We always pulled a 600 bushel kilbros grain cart with it in the fall!
