Good evening,
I decided to check into the injectors on my 45 with a d262 because it starts to cough when it’s idling.
My cousin had a Buda injector tester that he gave me so I tried it out, only tested 2 so far which popped and sprayed at 2000psi but the one would stream at 1950psi so I’m guessing it will need rebuilt.
Does it require special tooling to rebuild one?
Was just thinking about giving it a shot at doing the rebuilding myself (with your help of course!!) if it’s not to bad and maybe save a few bucks.

Thanks,
Gavin

Probably the elastocast ring holding the governor plate is the idle is erratic but runs ok mid to high rpm. When you test those indirect injectors you need to rapidly pop the injector a few times before diagnosing it bad.
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

I just had the pump rebuilt a year ago do to it leaking all over.
No I didn’t do the pump myself, I took it to a trained diesel shop. That part is too touchy for me.
