Well guys and gals,,,,,,,, I haven't been on much lately because of an accident that my wife had. We were at our daughters on November 1st and going out through the garage when my wife was going down the steps and caught her toe on the last step. She fell forward and to her left. This caused her left ankle to dislocate and broke both the tibia and fibula bones that connect to it. Also in falling she landed on the concrete floor on her right knee and broke the tibia and fibula about an inch below her knee. I'd post some pics, but they are distressing. It's gonna take some time for her to heal and get back home. She is currently in a nursing facility and will be until the bones knit and she can walk again. It's lonely around the house without her and now that I'm only cooking for one,,,,,,I'm not eating well either. But that I can do as I have a LOT of extra pounds I can live off of and it'll do me good to lose some weight. The docs are saying it'll be in January before she'll get to come home. Needless to say, I'll be very busy after that, until spring..... Gettin old isn't for the faint of heart. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving. And may God Bless......... Ted, I'm so sorry to hear of your wife's accident. It seems the older we get the more things happen that we were able to avoid when we were younger. Keep the faith, she will recover and hopefully you will survive your own cooking.

Ted, sorry to hear about your wife's misfortune, wishing her a speedy recovery and prayers from Illinois. Take care of yourself since she's not home to guide you and she's gonna need you healthy when she returns. When she gets home you will have a whole new outlook and a new appreciation for her cooking. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

wow Ted!, so sorry to read this about your bride!, they are our lifeblood, I don’t know what I’d do without mine here every single day. We will keep her in our prayers as she works through healing and recovery from her fall. You better start taking care of yourself as she’s going to need you when she gets home!

I am not far behind with all issuers old age brings us. Rather depressing, all the things that are normal work becoming life altering with that one miss step.

Thanksgiving prayers from Iowa to you, sir and to your wife. That sounds like one heck of a fall she took. Isn’t it crazy how the little things can hit you like a car crash. It’ll be a winter time to remember and one you wish you could forget. Prayers, prayers, and more prayers from Iowa.

Sorry to hear that Ted. Life happens while we are busy making plans. The good news is you have friends to help you along. Lean on the one who will do the dishes and cleaning.

Thanks everyone, for all the prayers. We're getting by, a day at a time. Don't worry about my cooking, I cooked for a bunch of Firefighters until I retired and some of em are pretty picky...... besides, you ever see a good cook who was skinny? Those of you that have seen me know I'm NOT skinny.... I have done 98% of the cooking for my bride and myself forever. It's just that I don't know how to cook for one person!! I usually make enough for 4 people, I LOVE leftovers. HAPPY Thanksgiving to ALL of you and a blessed tomorrow(s)

As I get older older these kinds of things hit closer to home. Had some neighbors who had something similar happen. After 65 years of marriage it was tough to see how hard it affected them. Sorry for your situation and best wishes. Hopefully you have family close
