Anyone have any tips to change seals in a 185 steering motor. Pulled the cover off from above and wondering what needs to be removed to get to the top seal the easiest.

Thanks

Start by getting a seal kit from AGCO and have it on hand. The steering orbitrol needs to be off the tractor and clamped in a vise. There are 4 lines that need to be disconnected and 4 bolts that hold it to the steering column. The orange panel under the instrument panel has to come off to gain access. Once you have the steering orbitrol in the vise, remove the four small bolts that hold the top on and remove it and remove/replace the quad seal and whatever else is there. Lightly oil the quad seal. DO NOT disassemble any farther !!!!! There will be some parts left over !! Put the top back on a reinstall on the tractor.

Nope. Just the large orange panel below it.

I do the seal right on the tractor don't need to remove the motor take the bracket that holds the motor to the steering shaft lay with the dash and steering wheel front on the hood then you can pull the cover on the motor and change the seal make sure you hold the shaft in the motor this way you have to take the lines off
