Hey guys.  I have a d14 with an issue on the hydraulics.  The issue is that if I raise the 3point up by pulling on a diverter valve they go up but they wont go back down.  The return to the sump has been changed from original and has a tee on it with two return lines.  If I pull one off and push on the 3 point arms it lowers.  My question is, is the port that returns to the sump just a straight through or is there some kind of a valve on the other end?  Basically should I be able to remove the tee and push a rod or something through it right into the sump?  I am wondering if there is a clog somewhere.

Pictures would be nice. What kind of a push/pull diverter valve ??  Something added on I'll bet. The standard factory hydraulics work as follows: Lift/lower lever UP raises the lift arms. Lift/lower lever fully down (below horizontal) lowers the arms. Half-way holds the arms in whatever position you want.

i thought a diverter valve was used to supply pump pressure to EITHER #1 cylinder or #2 cyllinder ... one hose IN and two hoses OUT.... You select which PORT you are going to use, and then the FACTORY LEVER supplies the oil.. The Diverter does not control the UP or DOWN... just DIRECTS the oil to one of the two cylinder ???

Now if your " valve" is a 2 way valve to change the factory SUPPLY to an UP and DOWN pressure system, thats different.

It is for sure an add on.  It has a bucket run from a 2 way spool valve.  Everything works as it should except the down on the 3 point.  the bucket is not connected right now so I am not sure it that is doing the same thing or not.  Like I said, If i remove the hose that leads back to the return port on the sump, the arms go down.  So I am questioning if there is a clog or is there a valve or anything on the inside of the return port inside the sump.  Is it just a hole through the sump or is there more to it inside.

when you pull the FACTORY handle, the oil goes THRU the diverter valve to the 3 point... When you move the FACTORY handle, the oil goes BACKWARD thru the same hose from the 3 point, THRU the diverter valve, INTO the factory valve/ pump and is dumped to sump ??? ............. or maybe your talking about a PRIORITY VALVE and not a DIVERTER ??

INTERNALLY the factory valve / pump supplies oil or drains oil BACK from the cylinder... You have to move a SPOOL INSIDE the factory valve to do that.. it is not a open hole to sump.

oh so if the oil is not returning unless I disconnect the hose then there is an issue with the pump not allowing the oil to  flow in reverse.  Is there a check valve or something that is not working properly.  Is my only option to remove the pump assembly?

If the plumbing is Correct, then the 3 point drains back INTO the factory valve / pump and to sump.... So YES, the factory valve as an internal problem..

Im still not sure why you are moving the DIVERTER valve handle to get the 3 point to move....    The loader valve would have a DRAIN HOSE back to sump... the 3 point would NOT and the diverter valve would NOT have a drain.... you SELECT if you want the loader or 3 point with the DIVERTER... Then you use the factory valve to run the 3 point... if your using the loader, you LOCK the factory valve / pump ON ( hold handle OPEN).. then use the Loader valve for the loader, and it will have a drain hose.

a picture or a drawing of the hoses might help as Dr said..

you might bypass the diverter valve and only run the factory valve/ pump to the 3 point for a TEST.

???? isnt the 3 point cylinder and hose on the D14 internal ?  How is a Diverter valve plumbed into the 3 point ?

The long and short of it is, if you aren't positioning the LIFT/LOWER lever fully down below horizontal, nothing is going to lower.
