I planed to take my B to a show a few weeks ago.  I always drain as much gas as possible and run it until the gas is burned out of the carb.  When I tried to start it, it would fire for about 2 seconds and die. I pulled the carb and blew out the passages, didn't see any junk in it.  Put it back on, same thing. I am running just purchased, no alcohol gas.
Do any of you have an idea of what could be the problem? TIA
Btw, I'm also JohnCo, I keep having to change my name to get on.

Not actually being able to see what's happing first hand, I'll tell you that often what you think is a fuel issue turns out to be an ignition issue and what you think is an ignition problem turns out to be fuel related.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

is there a drain plug on the carb ?  Open it and see that you have flow.. If the BOWL is full, the engine should run close to a minute before running out of gas ... If a jet is plugged, you might have to move the CHOKE... but it still should run for a short period of time..

as Paul said, you could be looking at a bad coil / etc.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I get a steady flow from the drain plug so I assume the float valve is working properly. I have never had a coil go out on a mag like this, usually they work or not. For the two seconds it runs, it sounds strong.  Once I try it and it runs, it won't start for maybe 10 minutes, again running for 2 seconds.  Oh yeah, it runs on either for as long as I squirt it into the intake, so I guess that rules out the coil.  A mystery for sure!

If you remove the air filter hose and keep spraying small amounts of starting fluid in the carburetor and you can keep it running, you can decide if it's a fuel or spark problem. From what you are saying, I am betting it's a fuel delivery or carburetor problem.

yep... you ruled out the SPARK !... Bowl is full, but will not run... but you can run on ether... Sounds like your main jet is plugged ! ... Time for a carburetor CLEANING.

Well, it runs, don't really know what it was.  I put another carb on and more non corn squeezens gas and it started.  Probably enough bad gas to cause the problem.  Anyway, thanks for the suggestions!
