Back when, I paid the bucks, qualified on the range and got a concealed carry permit. Two cards involved at the time - A FOID Fire Owners identification Card and the CCw card. So along comes a change and the CCW is an endorsement on the FOID card. My cards are expiring. I went thru the hurang to renew the FOID on line with the State Police. Soooo if and when the new FOID comes in will it have a CCW endorsement like the expiring FOID?

No, a Concealed Carry License (CCL) in Illinois does not expire with a new FOID card if the cardholder receives a combined FOID card and CCL. As of January 1, 2022, the Illinois State Police began issuing new FOID cards without expiration dates, and if the cardholder has a valid CCL, they will receive a combined card that serves as both their FOID and CCL. The combined card will also not have an expiration date printed on the face of the card. However, law enforcement officers can access the expiration and status of all FOID cards and CCLs through LEADS.

BOTH License should be found Unconstitutional and Required Abandoned.

I dont agree with it... but for those in OTHER STATES... Illinois has had a FOID LAW for 50 year.... "Fire arms ID".... You get that from the State Police (card) and it allows you to buy ammo and guns... you can not buy 22 shells without a FOID card...
To get a CC card, you have to GO TO SCHOOL.. They have courses around the State, setup by "qualified" individuals.. You got 2-3 times for several hours per day. Pay the FINE and then you can get a CC Card from the State Police.. Use to be good for a few years, then had to redo... Now it is going to be auto renual... just want your MONEY.

They Just want your money, classic value to make this Unconstitutional.
Unless IL charges every Criminal that is caught with a Weapon as to NOT having ome is demonstrated as a Crime upon a Right by Legal Firearms Owners. Penalty has to be greater than that of just a common citizen that fails to Renew penalties. Edited by DMiller - 14 Jul 2024 at 5:17am |
