I think I've decided to add a new coating to the steering wheel.  I tested plasti-dip and rustoleum pro bed liner.  They both have qualities that I like (bed liner a bit thicker), but the plasti-dip seems less sturdy (after a few days drying).  The bedliner material is definitely tougher.  Plasti-dip slightly more rubbery.  I'm a little worried about a plain paint coating.  Anybody used bedliner (or other coating)?

After another day of drying, the bedliner material is only a little better than the plasti-dip :(  Both fairly easy to rub off.

Sand it, paint it black and apply several coats of clear coat afterwards.

I have filled cracks with body putty.. sanded as DSeries4 said and painted black with enamel paint.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

After several test coats of bedliner, I'm liking it more and more.  It does seem a little tougher with number of coats and drying time.
