It looks like pretty nice stuff!
We are pretty far north right on the Canadian border (about 90 minutes from Montreal or Ottawa). I remember Dad always shooting for June 10 to be started haying. Summer is definitely starting earlier and first frost in now expected in October, rather than early September, like it was several years ago.

There is no better hay than young made first cutting grass hay. Too bad to waste it on a horse! Lol

Heck I'm trying to figure out WHEN the 2 farmers near me PLANTED their corn, as it's now UP 2-3 inches ! That seems early to me.

It was a late start for us as we normally start at the beginning of May, sometimes late April if we have a really warm spring. We did bale 1 field a few weeks ago but didn’t risk knocking more down because of the forecast. As it turned out we could have made both orchard grass fields. We have a little longer hay season in Va if the weather works out. We have had several years of a 4th cutting when the rain and sunshine cooperate. Good looking hay Dana. Do you run 1 or 2 square balers?
