Still have a orchard grass field to do today. Thankfully we didn’t get rain that others 10 miles away got last night. Another beautiful day, light dew, brother Jim is going to rake that field after lunch so we can get it baled. Also trying out our new to us JD round baler on a field of mixed grass hay to see how it does. Hoping the afternoon thunderstorms miss us or occurs after we are done for the day.

Thanks Ray!! What a week we have had. It paid off as we finished with a few rain drops hitting the 6060 hood while wrapping the last round bale. That’s it, it moved through with just a few drops, we hauled in all our round bales, orchard grass square bales in the barn and 1st cutting is done unless we pick up another field that Charlie is checking on. Our new to us equipment performed well, as well as all our AC equipment. It was the perfect few days.

With all the rain we've had this spring, I'm glad I'm not bailing this year

I’m not going to complain to much about the rain. Last year starting in June, the rain disappeared and the drought began. Didn’t get a second cutting on most fields and we had to buy hay for the first time ever in February.

Wish I had the weather for hay! Best looking first crop I’ve had in years but it rains every other day, I’m not going to complain too much because I definitely remember last year with no rain and no hay.
