A&I has a nice air ride unit. If you want manual, go to a combine salvage yard and get a gleaner seat and suspension. You won't be able to use the big right armrest. But having the big left armrest that folds down for a buddy seat can be handy.

As far as I'm concerned, the original suspension system was just fine, provided it was in good working condition and that includes a new shock absorber. The optional (black belly) luxury seat suspension was absolute junk and high maintenance. I'd like to try and build an old suspension with an air bag or air shock for the spring. The later cloth cushions were nicer than vinyl.

I thought the seat in some of the White tractors were pretty nice, and they wouldn't look too bad in a 7040. the arm rests are kinda chincy though

I have a deluxe suspension setup in my 7000 black belly that is worn out to the point where the seat slopes down hill.  It looks like it has way too many joints and places that wear out, so I may be in the same boat as you before too long!  It has a nice aftermarket cloth cushion set that is great, but the suspension is just worn out.  I would love to see some pictures of different setups, even factory ones, if anyone has them readily available.

I may be interested in a part from one of your luxury seat suspensions. Mine is missing a piece on the left side.

My 8000 series seat suspension  went to crap right along with my back, The cushions are still good and I went through my AC dealer and I bought their air ride for both 8000s and my 7020 at the time got a new K&M seat.  K&M is now owned by Northern Tool. The Air Rides in the 8000s are Great for a man that broke his back 25 yrs ago. But like others I have been retired for 15 years for health but still get out and head, it is difficult to slow down.  I have a 180D and 185 to do repair on and  paint jobs

my 7000 has only 1700 hours and the seat is worn out. works OK when the tractor is level but when you get on any type of slope it is non-functional. It looks nice though...

i know its awhile, but allis seats this came up.  does putting in a gleaner seat involve a lot of fabricating, because that would be perfect for my almost 4 grandaughter

I put a air shock in place of the factory shock on a 7040 and 7045. Best ride ive ever experienced. When I hit a bump seat wouuld go down but it would just ease back up. Ive got a 1500.00 dollar k and m seat in a 8070 that i love the seat top. The cousion part is the best sitting seat ive ever seen but the suspension is too bouncy
