Can anyone point me in the right direction for the shifter boot for a One Sixty Allis? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Have you checked with AGCO? This reminds me, need to order one for the 6080.

I’ll have to double check. Agco had them last year. Not cheap but better than getting water in the transmission

totally different boot. Looked it up. Appears discontinued. I know I paid 75 for it a year ago.

Check on Tractorhouse.   See there are some listings for the part # - 72072519.  Probably need to call to verify stock on hand.  One listing from Lindstrom shows 40 on hand.

I e-mailed Linstrom and although they didn't have it, they sent me a list of dealers who had it listed in their inventory. (sure wish I could get connected to that gateway)
Luckily, the dealer right here in Columbia, Ky. had one and it is now on the way!!!

Lightened my wallet CONSIDERABLY, but as stated above, still better than a transmission and hydraulics full of water.

Thank you all for your help with this issue!

I'll say one thing for the people at AGREVOLUTION LLC, they are on the ball with their parts service.
I ordered this boot on 3-18-24 at about 10:00am, and it was on my door by 3:00pm today 3-19-24!!!

That fact alone will make me try to do business with them again.
I have lots of Allis stuff needing parts.

Good to hear you got one.

On a similar note I called the Farm Store and talked to ReedE yesterday. They had a boot for the 6080 in stock. It's here now just waiting on me to get it put on.

I'll post this here as opposed to starting a new thread.

Had a little time yesterday afternoon before heading to work. Worked on D-17-1 a little with mixed results. Looking for a change of pace, let's change that shifter boot on the 6080. Pretty simple job, 6 screws and 2 knobs to remove. I put a drop of 'low strength' loctite on the knob threads as the gear shifter likes to get loose. Anyway, took a couple pictures, before/after.

You should've said "after/before" pics.  I spent a minute looking at the first ("before") pic, thinking that didn't look too bad at all.  Then I saw the second pic...  Smile

Nice job.  I think my D-17 needs one too, but it doesn't spend time in the rain.

They are cheap and easy for a D-17.

My local AGCO dealer (10 miles away) had the D-17 shift boot in stock.  Exact replacement - even has the two X's.  Hardest part was getting the knob pulled off.

Brenda at SLI has them, they are expensive! If I remember correctly from last year $95. I took slip joint pliers and bent my shift gate tabs up some to prevent it from tearing the new boot. That really helps. Just my 2 cents

I'm thinking about making a cover for the boot out of an old inner tube.
I don't want the U/V rays getting to that expensive little rascal!

I located one from the Agco dealer in Columbia Ky.
With shipping, it was around 100 bucks.

Yes, it is outrageous, but cheaper than a transmission oil change these days.

While talking to Alex Saturday at Amana, I spotted a boot for a 6080. He said I was the only guy to pick it up. Told him I just replaced mine and didn't foresee needing another. He always seem to come up with some interesting stuff. Glad he makes the trip to Iowa.
