kinda depends on what it's on. at first guess a LOT of heat on the key, grab with vice grips, use claw hammer to pry vicegrips and key out. probably take several 'heat and pry' tries.
any idea how LONG that key is ?
I'd book 2 DAYS and be happy if it only took 1 !!!!

Looks like a tapered center hub. I could be wrong, need to see a little of a side view, to be sure. Soak with your favorite flavor of penetrating oil, then I'd hook up a pair of vice grips to a slide hammer and bang away, alternating with a few hammer licks to the outer portions of the hub, to ease frustration. Cussin helps, too... 
What is it, a wheel hub on a tractor?

I can't tell from that angle. Does it have a "L" shape on the end. If so, a Gibb(sp?)key. It is a tapered key. There is a special tapered tool for removing those. A chisel may work.I have also hit the sprocket in on the shaft which may loosen it. Heat may need applied.

Drive the hub onto the shaft about a 1/4 inch and that’ll take the tension off the taper on the key. Then you can pull the key out.

This on a #4 mower on an Allis G Tractor. The Shield Bracket mount broke and I have to take it off to put it back on after it is repaired. I figured the key had to come out to get the hub off. Never ran into this type off key and figured it had to come out before the hub would come off. Didn't know if I could put a puller on it and it would slide off. Didn't want to break the hub because it would be really hard to find another.

well I see that log bolts would work with a puller to pull the hub off . I use a torch and gently massage the hub with heat a few times and use puller to coax it free. I see a center in the shaft . I always protect the center , I never damage the center if possibly removing any thing. May need to repair shaft on a lathe for example. I put a nut Between shaft and puller to push on keeping the center protected .
