They look similar to my 185 .

Macon Rounds

The Milwaukee Seat Co (Milsco) supplied Allis Chalmers with seats (called Marathon Seat in AGCO Parts Book) for the 185 and some 6000/7000 Series tractors in the mid Seventies/early 1980's.

The seat cushion has the same cross pleat as the seat back cushion.

Milsco supplies the full seat, frame, and both cushions, no arm rests,  to Serco Loaders of Two Harbours, Minnesota. I believe they are the only source for these seats!!

The seat is an exact match to what was installed by Allis Chalmers at the factory.  Several members have purchased the seat.  I was very satisfied with my replacement seat purchase in 2012 from a Serco Dealer in my area.

Perhaps this is the seat your 7040 was fitted with back in the day

Good luck with your seat project
