Finally, after sitting two years waiting for new rear rims and tires, fired it up and went for a ride around my property on my bush roads. Then drove it a mile down to my neighbors and back. Brakes are strong. Will lock the tires.
Question though as I can't even remember what it is supposed to sound like.....but I can hear a puck......puck......puck in the exhaust at higher RPM's. Is that normal or does it need a tune up? Or should I pull valve cover and check lifter clearance? Motor was rebuilt by a mechanic/farmer but that's not to say it was done right? I find a lot of people that sell stuff aren't completely honest, LOL

Hahahaha. Okay, just drop your D14 off when you come pick it up. ![]() ![]() The points and rotor and cap all look new. But I haven't checked gap or anything yet. Unfortunately I have to go back to work. So will have to wait until next week. How do I test the coil? And it has mis-matched plug wires so I need to get a new set of those. Plugs looked good and clean.

I gotta get a new cowl under the gas tank. It still has the toolbox door on the other side but someone butchered that big ugly hole in the side shown.

If all 4 plugs are clean, coil is fine, wires are OK, plugs good...... You should replace all the gas in the tank and give it a good test drive... .. say 767 Km should be just about right... ![]() Alright, next week, run her to town and back, at least an hour ,to get everything 'happy'.

Snap-coupler CA. Nice unit. I have 2 CA's with L306's on them, love em. One of which I started mowing grass in 1976 at the age of 10. My uncle always told me CA Stood for "It's the Cat's As". I believe everything he has ever said to me.
Good luck with your yours. Leon B MO

Uncle always said "Fill the back of the shovel and the front will take care of itself".

my '51 had the traction booster gauge on the steering column. Only one I'd ever seen.. curious, was it a real option ??

Those are Snap-Coupler arms? I always thought it was the pin style? I don't have any implements for it. Was the first antique tractor I ever bought just because I wanted one. I'm still learning all this Allis stuff. LOL

Pretty sure it was Jay. I bought a new decal kit for my CA to keep until I ever get it painted and it has the Traction Booster instruction decals with it.

1954 was the first year for snap coupler so a traction booster gauge was offered on the steering column. My neighbor has one on his and I believe his is a 1955 model.

You could also buy a snap coupler kit to upgrade the pin hitch tractors. So that would explain your 51’ with snap coupler and gauge.
