    Posted: 07 Sep 2023 at 9:15am
Need new rears for my CA. It has the 24 inch rims. They measure 11 inch outside to outside for width and 10 inside beads.

Tires were 11.2/10-24 Treadura's. Can I go wider on those rims or do I have to stay with that exact size?
Don't need to go wider, just trying to match up what's available.

Cheapest my tire guy has are Alliance, which are a Yokohama company and they are $359 each here in Soviet Canukistan. Plus I'll need to get tubes.

Everything else like Firestone, Good Year, Titan go up in price from there. Would have liked Firestone, but he doesn't sell them any more.

You could certainly go with 12.4's if you wanted. I have a pair of 16.9x28's that were on 10" rims when I brought that tractor home! They worked, didn't look exactly right. As has been mentioned here from time to time, Allis supplied many a D-17 with 16.9's mounted on 13" rims. Work just fine.

Okay thanks IBWD Mike. Just wanted to make sure because some brands only showed wider 24 inch sizes, like the 12.4's.

And a lot only listed in metric sizes.

But my tire guy did find the Alliance in 10-24's.

You can go up a size or two with no problem except possibly fender clearance.

Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

I went to 12.4 x 24 on my CA last year.  No clearance issues.  BKTs - pretty happy with them.

Thanks all. My tire guy gave me a good deal on the 11.2-24 Alliance (Yokohama) Farm Pro 324's.

Maybe I'll see if the 12.4's are much more.

I started out with 11.2 x 24 Firestones on 10” standard rims.
I changed to 13.6 x 24 Firestones on 12” rims which are taller and are Very close to the fenders! Maybe about 2” taller raise but about 4” taller with the outside diameter!
I have since gone back to the standard rim& tire combination.
