I bought an HD6G and it looks like its supposed to have an oil clutch but somebody put a dry clutch in it its got the cover plates missing and the drive shaft is missing.It turns over haven't started it yet.anybody know where to get parts? It's still got the oil pump and oil pan on it should I switch it to an oil clutch again or is a dry clutch just as good? The serial # is 37A23442 What kind of diesel would it have? What year is it? The undercarriage looks great it had water in the engine oil been sitting for 5 or 6 years. Hope the blocks not cracked put water in the radiator last night didn't see any water out of the oil pan after several hours. The guy I got it from said it ran before he parked it don't know much about it.If anybody got a parts unit let me know Thanks.

The wet cluch is much better but if a dry cluch ben instaled on am tinking the cluch shaft and brake cluch and more ben change from and if you could have a picture it could help and am still have some used parts for HD6

I studied the manual real good and everything's switched over to dry clutch .I think I'll just leave it doesn't have the oil filter mount anymore so I'll tear off the oil pump and oil pan cover the openings. But the one actuating lever is broken the block bearings for the clutch shift fork are missing and the drive shaft is missing otherwise it shifts good steering clutches and brakes work good seems in good shape.

Tried to start the old thing last night not enough voltage need 24v. I think it'll start it was smoking and coughing. I changed the fuel filters flushed the lines will try again tonight how do you bleed the fuel lines on these things? Thanks for any information.

yes system is 24 volt. fuel goes to primary filter, mechanical transfer on side of injection pump, back to secondary filter and too injection pump.  bleed at fuel filter housing and injectors.   insure adequate flow to injection pump,  those hoses can collapse.   hopefully the pump is good.

That serial is late.  1972, almost last year of production, which was 74.
And yes would have oil clutch which is much better. Almost indestructable unless a imbecile runs it out of oil.
Allis 6000 direct injection engine.  To bleed fuel must gravity flow to primary filter then to lift pump it then flows to secondary pressure filter, then to fuel pump.  Is small vent screws on tops of fuel filters.  To bleed pump, take out large screw in centre of pump where the 4 fuel injector lines come out.  Do NOT remove small screw on side of pump that looks like  a bleed screw; its NOT.  It holds delivery valve and spring in place.
