Just looking through Tractor House and seen a couple of decent looking 7045's listed. One somewhat close by and one not close at all. Each of them listed for over $18k! When did these take such a huge jump in price?
Last time I was searching for a tractor you could get a nice 7xxx series for 10 or less. Are these prices just high hopes or are these actually selling for this now? I was considering selling off one of my 190xt's and replace it with a 7 or 8 thousand series machine but dang at those prices I'm not so sure now.

I understand things have gone up but dang! I don’t see the 190 tractors going up in value by that degree! Sure wish I would’ve been on the market 5-6 years ago! |

I don't know where the money was coming from,, but I thought most went for more than I thought they ever would.

Same here. I'm glad I bought in when I did. A 7045 in decent shape sold near me last year for $14,000. A 7020 in ROUGH shape (missing a few windows, cab interior shot, decals nearly gone) sold for $8,000.

I’m assuming a lot has to do with where you are located. The ones I seen were far enough away to be in a “different market”. Around me if it isn’t red or green it won’t bring much of anything. Go out a ways and you’d have better luck. |

Look at food, vehicle, house prices they all went up. Lots of folks sold $7 plus corn and $15 beans heck for a bit wheat was $11 now cattle are a good price. I’m looking for another articulated tractor but can’t stomach the asking prices. $50,000 is hard to stomach for a 30-34 year old machine. If or when the bubble breaks this could be interesting.

There still out there if you look hard enough. I passed on a really nice 7030 for $3500 a jockey got it and sold it for $10000 and it's new owner was all hopped up on Facebook thinking they got a 700hr 7030 for $10000. It has 700hrs on a inframe and Dupont overhaul. Also saw a decent 7040 power shift go for $4500 at auction this September. All still a bit to rich for my likings. I have never given more then $1200 for a tractor myself and somehow I still have gotten by

there was a 7080 at an auction close to me in late october, early SN, like 112X went for $4500.00. For this area not much AC around, that was more than I thought it would bring.
they said it run and worked like it was supposed to,, but was not started during the auction,, also was pretty ruff, but really jus needed some TLC.

I have a 7050 that I don't have room for in the shed. I'm thinking of selling it and would be happier than (lets not go there) if it was to bring 10K . Couple years ago, it was probably closer to worth 5-7K. I had a email from auction time a week ago where you could input what you want to sell and they'd give you a value. It came back with somewhere around 20K and then a phone call asking if I want to list it with one of their dealers. I actually wanted to talk to someone and glad he called. He seemed to think I'd get that, but I just think it is crazy too. I just put a new torque limiter into it and have a cab kit sitting in the box to install one of these days. I don't know if I should keep the tractor or sell it. Absolutely nothing wrong with the tractor, just don't use it and don't have room for it. Still looks pretty decent, good rubber.

...@Gregor .. if you're tripping over the tractor then move it along. Lots of farmers searching for tractors and equipment that works to keep farming while their big rigs are broken down. Friend of the family got a new modern tractor five years or so ago and it was down for $10k trans repair and big wait on parts last summer, when working tractors were going for that. And the DEF shortages, right to repair issues. Old equipment has more value these days. .
