Get the serial number and post it. Series 2 was not a pan seat. Doesn't mean you got a bad deal, or it isn't a series 2, just that part swapping on a 59 year old tractor is possible/likely...

Pan seat was standard equipment. Deeluxe seat was an option. Power steering was an option. Hour meter was an option. Belt pulley was an accessory.

Serial number is is in the 14000’s, it has power steering, no hours meter, no tachometer and of course the belt pulley. Looks like it has the wrong seat (unless the deluxe was optional at the time), the wrong steering wheel and the decals are wrong.

Definitely a Series 2. Taller fenders with headlights mounted on them. Also has a dry air cleaner. As Dr. Allis said, it's been repainted with incorrect decals. Nice straight tractor - you definitely got a steal.

$300? Good grief. I'll I can say is thanks for saving another A-C before it got melted down and sent to China. The D-15 is my fav. As the Good Dr. stated the iron pan seat was standard. Black and White padded seat and back was an option. I have both. The padded seat is much nicer, so if you can find one go that route. Although I found a nice pad to put over the top of the iron seat and its fine as well. Good luck whichever you decide. Keep us posted on how it runs once you get the new carb installed.

I paid $300 for my WD a few years ago and you got a way better deal than I did. D15 series II is one of our favorites on our farm. As said the pie weights are worth more than that. You got a great deal. I’m sure you have already checked to make sure the engine isn’t stuck? Tires even look like they are in good shape.

Got the D15 running the other day, ended up finding the original carb for it in the neighbors shed along with the drawbar hanger assembly and strap and 3 point top link (still no drawbar, quite the mess in there!). Rebuilt the carb, cleaned all the tar from the gas tank, new sediment bowl assembly (old one crumbled in my hand), new fuel line, new plugs, changed coolant, changed oil and filter. Put it all back together and wouldn't start. Reset the timing and cleaned up the points/condenser and fired right up! Runs great, everything mechanical works and doesn't jump out of gear! Glad I was able to save it from the scrapper. Now its time to rewire since none of the gauges work, but at least the lights do! Also swap the muffler to a new one and decide if I'm happy or not with the single hydraulic service port, want to cut hay with it but I'm not big on chaining up the 3 point so the jury is still out on upgrading the hydraulic to a two way valve.

do you know why it was PARKED in the beginning ? Seems like it didnt take much to get it going.. Maybe they just stopped farming ?

Not sure why it got parked, it wasn’t on a farm just a rural property. I bought it from the owner’s daughter, he passed away last year and she wanted to get rid of things so the family could settle the estate. She didn’t know much about the history of the tractor just that it’s been sitting in the same spot as long as she could remember. She said she would take scrap price since it wasn’t running.
