I just heard an hour ago about a guy up the road from me. He was clearing snow and got stuck but there was nobody around to help. He got off the tractor with the wheels spinning and tried to "help" it out and decided to get back on. His coveralls got caught by the back tire and pulled him under, spitting him out the back with several broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and some other injuries. Will say a prayer for Ed tonight, hoping he will recovery fully. I know it sounds stupid but sometimes things happen that we never considered would. Be safe out there. Charlie

I was just browsing on Youtube and saw that and had to post it....looks like its been on there quite awhile and Im surprised no one has posted it before me....I've seen some pretty dumb things but that was right up there.....those nearly bald tires helped keep him from needing an obituary.....

I hope he wasn't hurt, but the odds are not good. That was a case of not thinking.

Isn't that the same guy that made a video of himself riding on the plow with nobody driving the 185? I'm starting to see a pattern.

If he is a frequent user of this site as well I'd still tell him it was extremely poor judgment....

Yep, I think that's Daniel. He has posted here. Had one of him sitting on the fender of the 185 plowing, with his bare feet resting on the other fender. Glad he didn't hang a rock. Hope he grows out of it. I've got a couple of friends who aren't having any more birthdays from the "hey ya'll, watch this" crap.

I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!

I inched my HD5 up onto end of tilt bed trailer once where I had to use the hand clutch while off the machine , well went well until it rolled back a little and my steel toed boot got hit by track and seemed to relocate steel cap about a inch back from where it was suppose to be , lucky I just wrecked the boot and not my foot.
Sometimes it sounded like a good idea at the time and we are lucky that our foolish idea did not cause permanent harm. Neighbor started his Ferguson tractor with a crank , but after checking everything when he got off the tractor to crank it he knocked it into gear, pinned him against work bench, cracking a few ribs and few other injuries, luckily there was someone there to kill the tractor and call ambulance. I missed the awesome part I guess, looked like someone started to get a tractor stuck, then finished by videotaping it,the thrill here? a turning tire?
There's on of a fatal accident where a guy backed a big Ford tractor up to dump something in a settling pond, backed a little too far,and got out of the tractor with the tractor trying to pull forwards, grabbed the guys leg and pushed the bloody bag of hamburger right out the back. Bummer for the people that found him,and probably not the nicest way to die. Stuff happens, but why temp fate? Chances are the kid would have lived through tangling with this and just have a gnarly limp for the rest of his life, but still.... |

At least the funeral would be fairly cheap. Dead and buried in on motion.

I wonder if they'll play these videos at his funeral??
I will say that he evidently knows how to adjust a plow. |

Guys ever hear of Indian Larry? He used to stand up on the seat of his motorcycle seat and extend his arms straight out at his sides like he was surfing. That is until he wrecked in front of a crowd, breaking his neck and dying.
