Had to laugh at this upgraded tractor. Looks like a good fit.

Maybe not. Any honest John Deere lover will tell you the 2010 gas engine was probably one of the worst engines ever built by anyone !!!  All four wet sleeves were attached to a thick deck plate that sat on top of the block. Known for leaks and head gasket issues and you cannot replace one sleeve...all four is the only way. Truly an idiots design.

When you see stuff like this, makes you want to be a fly on the wall of that shop. Beers being drank. What you think was wrong with the poor allis that they robbed the engine from.

Any one want to try replicating that. I have a nice industrial 2010 with a working back hoe.

I will challenge DrAllis I think JD had one idea even worse, THEY USED THAT DESIGN IN A 6 cylinder. As far as I have found only used in JD 95 combines and cotton pickers of the same time.

A good friend and I ran a 95 hillside with that piece of junk engine and very lucky to get 100 hours out of it without digging into the engine. We ended up using that parts other where pitching using JB weld on the bottom o ring flanges. Seemed to last as good as the guys putting everything new in.

A widow wanted a backhoe out of her yard and called my same friend. He put a battery in and it started. He drove it on his tilt bed and left it sit. He had bigger newer hoe, asked if he should unload it here.  After it was here started looking at what I had. Water in the oil. Drained, left plug out pored a a gallon in the radiator in 20 second a gallon of water came out the oil pan.  So here it sits for about 5 years now.

In addition to the engine, what I’ve heard about the 2010s is the whole tractor is bad.Rockshaft problems, hydraulic problems, bad brakes, and poor power assist steering. It seems Dubuque people say Waterloo got all the R&D funding for the 3010-5010, and that’s why the 2010 and 1010 were sub par.
