    Posted: 07 Dec 2010 at 6:18am
I just bought a 330 Planter and bought the manual for a 2500 from AGCO.
My planter is 1500 series and it does not appear to have the blower that is mentioned in the manual. Is there version of the 330 planter without the blower that is ground driven. Is ther something missing from my planter or does the serial number identify a different unit?
Thanks

2500 meaning serial #? The 330 designation is just the frame. Your units might not be air units. There should be a model and serial # plate on each unit. I know #78 units are air and I think #77 units are too but with shoe openers instead of discs. #79 might be plate type but others will know better than I. I might have 77 and 79 mixed up. I just know my 330 has #78 air units.

Lonn is correct in the fact that the 330 is the frame, buy I'm thinking it should be 333. As far as the planter units go, 77's, 78's, and 79's are all air champ units, thus haveing blowers on it. It could very well have planter units that are not air champs, and would be plate planters, but I'm not familiar with plate planter model numbers. Hope this helps some, get back to me if you need more info, and try my best to help. Darrel

I might have a manual for you. I'll look and let you know.

I own a 330 and a 333 both with 78 units. My 330 is common drive conventional planter and the 333 is a unit drive No-Til. I think either frame could be had with unit drive or common drive. Only thing I don't like is the depth gauging. The old 7000 Deere I and Dad had was better with the two gauge wheels mounted up near the openers instead of using the rear packing wheel as a depth wheel. I think I remember that the two gauge wheel setup like the Deere had was available as an option but I've never seen one with them.

Lonn, my 600 with 78 units has the depth guage wheels like you are talking about. It is set up so that you can either use the depth guage wheels, or a set of disc row cleaners, but not both together because they mount on the same bracket, Darrel
