Rebuilding our 190 XT and got new connecting rod bolts. ) my question is and I think I’m correct in not using them. But do the new bolts eliminate the old washers? The old bolts are regular hex head the new ones are 12pt. I was trying to up load a photo but my file is to large

Can't answer your question for the 301. I do know that rod bolts for the 426 engine are actually ARP and are torqued to yield so can't be reused.

New bolts are flange head. Needs no washer.
