OK, my loaner's deck belt got FRIED, when neighbour decided to 'brush cut' NOT 'trim' her 12" tall ,kind damp grass. According to the AC130 parts book, there's FOUR different belts ! and 2 different widths of 'pulleys' (though no part nums for pulleys.or picture....) It's a 42" deck, 23hp machine. belts are either 91.xx or 94.xx inches but no 'chart' of the combos... kinda hard to believe the same setup can use belts that are 3 inches different. curious like my cats.... jay

I will ask my son tomorrow as he has the tractor with the 42” cut. If I may offer some advice, he has had a issue with broken belts lately so he dropped it off at the dealer to have them look at it. $400 later, a new idler pulley, idler pulley arm, and belt. Also ground down the top of the bushing that the arm rides on as they were poorly manufactured and allow too much play in the arm resulting in broken belts as the idler arm moves up and down too much as the mower belt is in operation. Also advised not to run it in any notch below the 5th from the bottom as the deck goes too low to maintain proper alignment. His only has 104 hours on it

Thanks ! I bought 3 , 92,93,94" belts Put the A92K belt on ( 4L94.0" ) Cut 1/8th ac of 12" grass down to #6 on the deck lever.Only problem was no rope on the discharge lever and the kinda wet ,long grass kept plugging up.... Seems like were 'good to go'. I wondered about the 'not less than 5', TERRIBLE angles !!!! I'll inform the 'cutter' to keep at 5 from now on. She's a city girl who loves to cut grass for her 99 year old father-in-law. Still 'miffed' about docs saying 4 different belts and NO info as to which it's supposed to be.....

Jay the Simplicity part number for the belt is 1732955SM. They charged him $49 bucks for it. It doesn’t say the length. It definitely has a deeper V in it than the belt from TSC.

The book for these mowers are horrible. Very little info online as well. It’s a decent mower, just avoid hitting objects like tree roots with it! I think that’s what my daughter in law did! She said she grazed it but these decks are not built very heavy so apparently the shock bent the idler pulleys also.

Thanks Charlie, Found a simplicity dealer in Billings. Give my lawn tractor numbers and all 3 belts and 3 blades coming. Not cheap! But when they come I will get chance to measure up and maybe look at after market for next time. Thanks Kurzy

Just saw the post and I couldn’t give you the info. Like Charlie said, different deck sizes. 3 blades or 2, so they take different sizes. A suggestion is to stay with the Simplicity brand belts. He has tried different brands and they don’t last. The pulley takes a certain width and deep V to keep it in line with the idler pulley or when it jumps off it breaks the belt, bends the pulley and the arm.

Ours is at the farm but isn’t there a lever at the rear that puts it in free wheeling? Maybe it got bumped into free wheel position

Lower right side on the back is the transmission disconnect. It will not move if disconnected.

Howdy, My lever for transmission is located under seat. I used it several times to push mower around to move . But thats not the problem. I think its inside the transmission! Thanks Kurzy

Well that’s good news, would be a shame to junk a good mower. They are definitely a lighter built mower than their predecessors. Almost to the point of wishing they didn’t have the Allis name on them. Dad’s is a 2013 I think, and my sons 2 years later. Light duty mowers for sure but they do mow well as long as they are not abused.

Howdy, My manual says motion belt should last LIFE of machine!! That dont say much for this lawn mower. My only bitch with mower is its uneven cutting. You can see all blades pattern. Looks like its going to be a really job to get this belt on, deck off and no room to work. Thanks for the info. Hope this is the problem. Kurzy

Is the belt broken or stretched? If its not broken is there adjustments to tighten it? Will have to look at ours when I get a chance to see what’s involved.
As far as uneven cutting, ours mows even. Are the blades all the way up on the spindle? Trying to remember if they have the washers that are spline? If they are not lined up correctly on the spindle it would cause uneven cutting. Edited by AC720Man - 19 Jul 2022 at 8:54am |

Howdy, Yep all washers on, tire pressure same. might be because always cutting on a slope. Deck leans down, so uneven cut. will keep trying to get even. Found problem with movement. Deck off, way up is two steel plates that rub together when going from forward to reverse. They get petty tight and do not let the tension back all the way so belt gets loose. If you wash your mower down now and then , rust gets in there and holds up the plates from moving freely. A good dos of WD45 and all is well!!!! Now believe me to replace the motion belt is a days job! I will do it this winter. But for now mower goes forward and reverse. Simple fix but took 2 hours find! Kurzy

Great news Kurzy!! I will keep that in mind. Surprised me they would say it would last the life of the machine but then again my 917 is 40 years old and I have never replaced the hydro belt.

I bought 1 of these AC130 riding mowers in 2018. Mine is a 2011 model 23hp 42"cut which had just over 200 hours on it's hour meter when I bought it but still looked like new at 7 years old. It now has almost 300 hours on it. It cut uneven when I first got it which was due to 1 blade being bent down on one end. A pair of new blades, fuel pump, and battery is all that I have done to it so far. Oil even looks new still after 3 full mowing seasons so far. Haven't even looked at the belts. I really like the way that it runs and mows though it will never compare to my old B110.
