This isn't mine but for any Dodge people it's for sale, 1973 Charger sitting at the intersection of HW96 and HW183. I didn't look very close at it I just pulled up and took some pictures out the window, if I have time I can look closer at anything if someone wants. Looks like a repaint couldn't tell but interior looks original. |

He claims it’s all original but I would think the paint must be new even with 80k it looks pretty good.

Is the color a cream/silver or is it tan/sand?

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Move Over People Are Racing
(sorry, one of the funnier ones I ever heard) Dodge : v 1. To actively avoid or stay away from. (sorry, I can't help myself!) Actually, that's a pretty cool find and a good looking car. I'll bring it up to MI and rust that 50 year old metal out in 2 years tops.

![]() ![]() It’s a cream color to my eyes. Evening sun makes it look sand in that picture. I didn’t get out and look inside but I can get more pictures if someone wants them Edited by Kansas99 - 03 May 2022 at 8:46am |

I actually owned a 76 dodge 1 ton with a 383 in it. When you held it to the floor the fuel gauge moved faster than the ground underneath the tires. Fred Flintstone blew my doors off and he wasn’t even breathing hard.

In all truthfulness, If that is one of those "lean burn" engines, that would most likely be the reason for the low mileage and was always garaged. As mush as I prefer old MOPARS, I've never known anything good about that "lean burn" technology. and as it's all tied into the emissions system there's no getting around it to transfer the title and get a legal inspection. Of course I could be wrong and the "lean burn" was a year or tow later, I've never been a "car" nut.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Dodge trucks are the number one brand in lots of rural communities anymore.....and for good reason. Ive been to cattle sale barns where there were more Dodges in front of trailers than there were the other brands.

I don't think the B & RB engines in P/Us and medium duty trucks were the lean burn engines, just cars.

Third generation Dodge Charger 1971-74. NASCAR’s Richard Petty 43, Buddy Baker 11,71.
The 1973 had following engine options; 225 2bbl = 105hp standard 318 2 bbl = 150HP standard 340 4bbl = 240HP Rallye 400 2bbl = 175HP opt 400 4 bbl = 260HP opt 440 4 bbl = 280HP opt The 340 was only available in the 1973 “Rallye Charger” with power bulge(bubble) hood, Rallye wheels, slap-stick gear shift in center console. The 1971 383 was its last year & it was replaced in 1972 with a lower compression 400. Beginning in 1972, all Chrysler engines received hardened valve seats, which enabled them to burn the new “unleaded gasoline” & old leaded gasoline. Compression ratios were also lowered by about 2, from 10-9.5:1 to 8.5-8.0:1?? The 400 was oftened regarded as a pooch. But it’s big block had reserve block strength if compression was increased, etc, etc,,,which could make it more respectable. https://www.oldcarsguide.com/dodge/charger/1973-charger.html https://www.musclecardrive.com/specs/dodge/1973-dodge-charger.php Edited by AC7060IL - 03 May 2022 at 7:16pm |
