What do you guys use for copper head gasket sealer? I used Permatex copper sealer and it was gone, except for hints of it directly under head bolts where the most squish was.

The engines that I've had copper head gaskets on, I've used O-rings to seal the water and oil passages and fire rings on top of the sleeves. Nothing on the copper gasket itself.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Yep, fire rings on sleeves, since there are no grooves for o-rings, dont they get smashed down to nothing?

The holes in my copper gaskets are large enough that the O-ring set inside of the gasket and when using a .090 gasket with .125 O-rings they squash down to .090

I've always done the old trick of aluminum paint on headgaskets. I honestly think it prevents leakage better then copper coat - taken apart many things with copper coat that weeped - clean it up and use aluminum engine paint on the used gasket, put it back together and no issues.
