I decided to go back out and take a video after chores. 54F and mud limited my wheelchair. I have to use the Honda mini truck to feed.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas Dick!
Although we have never met, I think of you every time I work on a carburetor and I am still using your advice to boil the carb to clean it (with very good results) !

There are so many people on this site I would have loved to spend time with. I have been Blessed by having the opportunity to have been taught so many details in so many different skills over the years. I could have learned so much more had I had a chance from those here. I have found I have learned something from everyone I worked with. I am always grateful when I can pass something others have taught me to others.

Hey Dick L,,Great video of your ponies,,,!! They are what keep you going and that is good,,!! I think I did read read your post of the carb cleaning many moons ago and like most dudes here,,," The younger I get,,The more I remember",,,heh, heh, heh,,,, Tell me one more time please How long do you boil the carb parts on a full sized carb? I had to clean the carb on my 4500 generator yesterday and had to pull it back off as something was just not right. It ran ok after the second "cleaning" but had I remembered your method,,I'd been chittin in tall cotton,,,, ![]() |

I never timed it Joe. I have a hot plate that I use and once it is on I go on to something else. I have gone long enough that the carburetor showed above the water. As soon as I split the carburetor and remove to plugs, float and loose stuff I drop them into a basket of carburetor cleaner for a unknow spell before removing jets. Disclaimer: all this was when I didn't need to use the tractor immediately. Then it ends up with water and an air hose, hammer, ripped gasket. Cleaning put off if I get it to run. ![]() Edited by Dick L - 27 Dec 2021 at 6:30am |

I sold Bella to a young Amish man with a 3 year old daughter that was delighted. I should have a new foal this spring. Last of March or first of April is my guess. Kacie is already quite wide. I do hug them all from the time they are born.
