That's a neat idea. I think my accountant is on board with that one. Merry Christmas

Kiwi,
Neat idea. Now, just think what all decorations you can make with used tires. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. What's the weather like in your neck of the woods? A very few snow flakes here in central Ohio and 32 degrees F.

Now that's ingenuity!!  Instead of paying to get rid of old tires, turn em into art. LOL

Have a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy & Safe New Year.

Kiwi,
I envy your summer weather; right at freezing here and quite damp.

Kiwi your weather sounds good. My wife and I got home from Florida Tuesday afternoon and was enjoying the warm weather down there, but 2 weeks was enough and we were ready to be back home for Christmas.

27 is 80.6 in real degrees.  I understand how the metric system makes sense, but the celsius system???...  One degree of C is like 3 degrees of F but not.

It makes sense if you want FREEZE to be ZERO and BOIL to be 100 degrees...

Instead we use 32 and 212 ??  Wink

Gotta go back to some. . . .I don't know, 8th 9th grade math?  y = mx + b.  When one scale is plotted as a function of the other, it is a straight line, meaning constant slope, which is what you said in a way "like 3 degrees F".  Trouble is, there's an offset, because the 0's aren't the same on the graph (the b above).  Now wasn't that fun?

Celsius used the freezing point of water as 0, the boiling point of water as 100, made a scale of degrees from there.  Mr. Fahrenheit mixed salt with ice to get the coldest temperature of water he could make that way, made his mark at 0.  Body temperature was used as 100, and the scale made to fit that.  Been tweaked a little but that was the basis.

In reality, both just random points of reference to make a scale.

Here's an interesting point to ponder.  NOTHING measures temperature.  All indicators of temperature are measuring something else, then CALIBRATED to relate what we know as temperature.  A mercury or other liquid thermometer reads the change in density of the liquid, some read the expansion of metal, some read a change in voltage, some a change in resistance. . .

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.
