Anything out there for a 301 Diesel cam upgrade?
Steadying building my 185 for the local farmstock classes this winter. It’s a non turbo (local rules do not permit a turbo so I cannot add one) Specifically looking into info for a cam and roller rockers |

I guess I'd expect no gain at all until you increase the fuel delivery.

That’s taken care of. Just got my pump and injectors from Ed, plus designed my own cold air intake set up. Next upgrade would be a cam or rockers.

Roller rockers are a waste of money unless a lot of RPMs. MACK

Longer ratio rollers might be worth it, maybe wouldnt need cam? Are the 426 rockers the same as 301?

Vogal seems to have one profile for a 301 gas or diesel doesn’t seem to matter that’s a 375f 212 and works well no one ever seem to have a complaint or probably set on a dyno and compare that cam to any other. They use decent lift and less duration. But if you really want a cam that is just for your tractor I would call Eric at no limits and get one reground. but before you do that get your head flowed and have flow numbers and as much information as possible you can give him the better and will grind what you need. With that said you can have more duration and use rockers to make up the difference with lost lift to achieve what you need. For a turbo diesel or high rpm gas a cam is way more beneficial then a N/A diesel
