How many amps does it take to charge a phone?
Standard chargers that come with iPhones and older Android phones carry 1 amp of current and put out 5 watts of power. New rapid chargers with technology such as Quick Charge support 2 amps and 12 watts or more, potentially charging your phone up to four times faster.Jul 2, 2019 |

In my house I have noticed that some chargers are faster than others. This is house current. Try a different charger if you have more than one. Have the same issue with an iPad charger in a vehicle.

These new smart phones learn your charging and first usage daily pattern. My new phone has learned that I plug it in around 9-9:30 pm and start using it at 6am. According to what I read it will charge up to 80% and hold until just before 6am to go to 100% supposedly to increase battery life. It’s an iPhone X.
