A lot of the grit/sand from the shingles on our house has washed into the eve trough, and on down and plugged one of the underground tile. There is still a lot of it in the eve trough.
The house was built in '95, we moved here in '12. I don't know if this is the first or second roof. Has anyone seen this happen? Is this a common thing to happen? Dusty |

Both the Rectory (the priest house I live in) and a garage both had that 'sand' in them when I cleaned, along with leaf debris which made it a little like mud. I don't have to worry about any under ground tile...these just drain onto the ground... A N Y W A Y, I would say your problem is not unique.

You can get Pat the Plumber to confirm but the reason the underground tile plugged is either a restriction or too much fall in the pipe. If the pipe has too much fall per foot the water outruns the solids and leaves them behind to bunch up. Industry standard for refrigeration drains is 1/8" per foot.
