Well, I've been lurking here for years and usually a new person joins because they need something from you smart folks. Well, I haven't been stumped enough to join before, but have joined because of a classified ad, and trying to help another in allis land out. In the past someone else had the same question that I would Google and get sent this way, hence never needing to join.
Just from what I've noticed, there's plenty of awesome people here, mechanics with years of knowledge, farmers, collectors and just about everyone else in between. Then I've also noticed that there is this one guy from near Blair Nebraska, That has this machine that gets talked about once in a while... he seems like a real nice guy but seems like he could be trouble too lol!
And your probably wonderin what kind of orange I have. Well I have a 1943 C that was my great uncle's. It has a mounted hydraulic lift plow. It sat in the barn for 15 years and decided something needed to be done with it, so a new wiring harness, some steering parts, radiator, tires, and a split to redo the oil pump and now have a handy little tractor. I did leave it 6 volt too. The next one is an 8050 fwd. Some people buy boats or campers, some guy's buy a tractor. We have 100 acres tillable, but rented out. I dabble with a couple acres every year just for fun for our tractor club and help whoever when needed with the 8050. There's a 21 ft 2600 disk, 20 ft D-A field cultivator, and a 6 bottom green plow that goes behind it once in a while. I know you guys are going to want pics, but let me figure things out one step at a time please.
Thanks for having this forum! It's officially the first social media I have joined lol.

And I forgot the best one. My wife told me I should get a riding lawnmower soon after we bought our house. Well I seen a C with a belly mower on craigslist a few years ago, but didn't bother with it, until my dad found it. He decided "we" needed to look at it. Took a drive and seemed to check out. A week later it followed us home, the first time we visited I asked the owner about any coolant leaks in the basement. "Nope" was his response and the oil wasn't milky, and a lesson learned, check the breather cap before you put something on a trailer and a wrench to crack a drain plug. It sat in the shop for a week and for kicks and grins cracked the drain plug. Only a pint of coolant came out, lol!
So I figured that you can't get an education like this in any school, so decided to overhaul it myself with the help of some neighbors of high mechanical experience. Well life got in the way and the engine is on the stand, cleaned up, half assembled, waiting to be finished.
The wife was NOT impressed by the way! And it may be a little overkill for a lot in town! I did get a rider for in town and some day the C will be handy around the farm.

Thanks guys! I hope everyone had a good weekend and took a moment to remember what it's all about.
As far as that "machine," that pretty is my money maker in the winter. Can't complain about this past winter, but the few before that machine could have taken a break.

I try to get to Edgar at least every couple years. They do have a lot to see in a day though. I'm an hour away and it's always worth the trip, especially the breakfast. Do you know if it's still going to happen this year, with the world spinning the way it is? My cousin was pretty excited to hear Molly B was going to be there this year.

WELCOME Mike!!  Another Wisconsinite to kind of even things up,,,,,a little.  You'lve got a few guys around you that are really nice and helpful if you need it.  One is just a bit aways and he's a LOT of fun and knows and helps out a LOT.  He's wiplowboy.  Lives in Custer.  If you can't figure out how to get into the memberslist, just holler and I'll help you out.
Don't expect any help out of me when fighting that 'snowman' from Blair.  you're on your own with him.
Take care and I'll get ahold of you when I'm up in the area again.  I'll PM you

Welcome Mike. Good to have you along for the ride! When I was farming full time I had an 8050 MFWD . Great tractor. I really didn't need it anymore when I downsized so I kept my 7060 for hay work.

WOW! I never would have thought I would see a welcome like this! I've seen it here before, but now know firsthand what kind of family you folks are to each other.
Ted, if you're in the area and I got the time, by all means you're welcome over. I also do know wiplowboy, believe it or not.
Chaskaduo, I don't know any Jackson's. Now if there last name ended with a ski or didn't have any vowels I might. (Lots of polish in the area!)
Bossman, I knew Plainfield has been canceled, and did look up edgar, sounds like they want the show to go on. By the way where are you from?
Thanks, Mike

Mike as a friend I think I need to let you know something. You already know not to accept gifts from that one guy with a machine but let me tell you something. Don’t ever let ole Ted J give you a gift. I made that mistake once and still paying the price. 😂😂😂

Chris, don't tell him that.
We love pictures. Yes they can be a challenge. There are helpful tips from members on here. I struggled with it also. My method may be more difficult than others but it seems to work for me.

Alright guys...it's been a while and I apologize if it was my fault. I was trying the picture posting thing one night with no success, then the next day that error code came around for a couple days. Not the most tech savvy kinda guy, and it would be my type to crash the website with a wrong stroke of the finger!
Anyway, I got my pictures on a S9 Samsung phone. Is there a way to resize and post right from it? I know a lot of people use imagur and work off a PC. I tried googling the picture posting chats from the past, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have a S7. What I do is snap the photo, text it to myself then download into files. It resizes for the text message which is small enough to load on this forum.

Mike,
I have my pictures on a chrome book lap top, i download them and use photo resizer HD to resize them. then i use imagur as the storage area copy them into the forum.
Yes a pain in the butt. just the way I have learned. I am sure there are much easier ways. By the way in imagur you can resize the photos too so you may be able to skip the photo resizer step?
Regard,
Chris
