Neighboring farmer has corn up today. It was planted at least 3 weeks ago. I drove by while he was planting the field. Should have written the date down. It's on Mine Road, Shaws Point Township, Macoupin County, Illinois. That's roughly 38 miles south of Springfield, IL and 70 miles northeast of St. Louis, MO. How about others? Anyone else have corn up in his/her vicinity?

Still in bags at the dealers! Heard of some corn put in south western Ontario Canada but nothing in my area.
I farm in a higher elevation area of Ontario and sometimes 80 day corn barely matures. 2019 corn was close to 40% moisture at end of November and 45 lbs a bushel. Had to leave till march to dry in the field. Hopefully this yr is better and we get it planted first week of may. Anyways got a bit sidetracked

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

It depends on the person here. I know of a few that have all of their corn and beans in the ground to some that have started to some like myself that haven't started.

planting 3in deep, basicly takes any worries away about frost. the growing point will never be frozen off and the plant is 10times as healthy. the Nay sayers haven't done any research and never will. all corn is into moisture, here in Nebraska. I planted tomates on tuesday.

Shameless; why not ask them green planter dudes why they ain't bought a new planter from deere? Deere finally builds a good planter in 2014; only 30 years behind in technology and no one buys one! What's up with that?

I am in southwestern Wisc a lot of corn and beans in here. The big acre boys really get at it but mostly notill so don’t take long to plant a bunch. The little farmers that are left which aren’t many don’t plant this early.

I planted mine 4-22 & 4-23. Central Ia. about 25 miles East of Des Moines. Lots of others planting this week too. Weather looks fairly warm for the 10 day, we'll see how long it takes to emerge. Have not seen any up here, one guy North of here plants really early, think April 1. Will have to look at one of his fields on the way to work. This was the most uneventful year I've had. Not one problem. Two great days on the 185. Got a couple of tenths of rain Wednesday night so I had to wait awhile yesterday before starting. With all the talk from time to time about traction booster linkage freezing up on these tractors I deemed it a good time to lube that system. Did that and lubed everything else that looked like it might like it.

Planted my little patch on Wednesday 22 in east TN, still early here but the poplar leaves are bigger than a squirrels ear so its time to plant.

Shameless Your an ignorant #%^ Deere has sold more planters than anyone else since 1974 when the 7000 series came out. If you dominate an industry for 45 years you must be doing something right. We planted fencerow to fencerow with a 385 could see plain as day our Deere was more uniform stand. |
