As some of you may remember I am working on restoring my Dad's D17 Serial # 3047. He did not buy it new and only used it to bush hog a bit. After he died by step brother was bush cutting a piece of land and he must of hit a pretty good tree with the front of it and cracked the housing on the power steering right where one of the fittings screws into it making it extremely difficult if not impossible to weld it so I have been told by my mechanic. Does any one out there have any idea when I could fine a used Power steering assembly for this tractor. If I cannot find one I will have to scrap it.

You need to be more specific or provide pictures. The front support under the radiator has one fitting and it is directly under the radiator, so I doubt that is the issue or the radiator would have been damaged too. The power steering hydraulic cylinder has two lines/connections on it and is a removable piece from the front support and could be the problem?? The power steering control valve has three connections on it that could be damaged and it too is removable. I have all these parts and would be willing to sell them. I do not have a front support, but they should be available in a salvage yard as they are the same for power steering or non-power steering.

No The pump is fine. It leaks in the line. I will get pictures tomorrow. I was told this by the gentleman who is working on the tractor so what info I have is second nature.
