basically, what 'Twins said. you have to start by removing the shift tower. likely all you will need to do is realign the forks. Not unheard of for the forks to get out of alignment one worn transmissions with a little 'ham fisted' shifting. I have one that will get into two gears at once if I get rough with it. I learned to be gentle and have not had an issue since.
