So I ordered a set of gauges for my 175 diesel the amp, temp, and tach gauge. When the temp gauge came it has the temp probe that screws into the block like my D17 and D19 have and I know that the gauges for 175 are electric so my question is there anyway or anywhere on this tractor where I can screw this probe into so that the gauge will work or do I have to send it back and get the correct gauge.

You could remove the electrical sending unit that's in it now and replace it with the new mechanical one. It's on the RH side of the engine up front right behind the fan.

I'm not sure that the old style mechanical gauge "bulb" will fit inside the Perkins engine temp sender location. Diameter of the threads too large and bulb too big/deep.

Yes it did come with an adapter. At the top of the motor where the top hose from radiator goes there’s a plug on mine that an Alan head fits. I took that plug out and the adapter screwed in perfectly to that. I believe there is plenty of space to screw the probe in. I
