Have a series II engine that I’m not sure where to go for more power. Rather not bore or stroke it. Just looking for simple power adders for a few more horse.

For power you can either add cubic inches (which generally cost cubic dollars) or add manifold pressure. I found that turbocharging made for a fun puller with a 160 engine in a CA chassis. I build all my pullers to run on E85. This cools the intake charge to increase the volumetric efficiency, and also is a big help to eliminate the chance of detonation problem that I first had when using racing gas. Maybe not a simple bolt on, however everything I did here can be done to a factory stock engine and has been trouble free for nearly 20 years, with only 1 blown head gasket. I figure if that is the fuse that keeps from breaking something more expensive, I'll
 just continue using the stock 138/149 head gasket with the fire rings,  not the 160 gasket without fire rings. This set up could be brought, if you're interested, email me at;  the1orangewizard@gmail.com

Paul is right on.......... the air fuel ratio for a given motor can not change drastically... so to get more HP, you need to pump more air so you can increase the fuel flow... TO get more air you need more RPM, more intake manifold PRESSURE ( turbo) or more displacement.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Wasn’t sure if anyone has done any cam work to one before. Bigger cam and some carb work maybe? Im not sure a turbo is even aloud in the classes I’m running.

Cam work, larger carburetor, increased RPMs and some porting will get some exrta power. The most important thing on the cam side is proper timing of the cam to the crank. Any re-ground cam will most likely need an offset key or just another keyway cut into the camshaft gear to degree it correctly, close is not good enough and if your not going to take the time to do it precisely, you just shouldn’t even mess with that area. Most often you’ll do more harm than good.
   With the turbo, or any of my pulling engines, I run in the area of around 4500RPMs. Speed linits are for twobangers😺

Larger carburetor will add some HP. A carb venturi (from a 175 gas tractor) in your carb will add some HP. If you use 91 octane gas, you can advance the timing to 30 degrees BTDC instead of 25 degrees BTDC. Loop some mechanics wire thru the governor spring to increase engine speed to 2800 RPM's. Anything else will get expensive. Sounds to me like you're not even sure of what the rules will allow.  A good WD-45 has more potential than a D-15.

I’ve got the rpms turned to it. It just won’t hang them with the 45hp it shows on the dyno. A WD would be a better choice I agree. But this fell in my lap and it does very well for itself in 3mph classes.

Just putting feelers out for anyone who has gotten more hp with simple upgrades. A bigger carb will be my first step. I don’t think a turbo is my answer for what I’m doing.

Put your motor into a CA or D10 and run the 2500 pound class, otherwise you’ve only brought a knife to a gunfight if you pull against WC, WD & WD45 tractors in 3500 and heavier classes.
