I traveled Up close to Carlise Pa. today for was was listed as the Pa. State Plowing Championships. This was for the antique division. What a joke it turned out to be. Had I done most of the plowing I saw today, I would have been embarrassed. The only one there that even half knew what he was doing had an International I6 pulling a little genus 2 bottom. I wish I'd gotten a picture of him, but for some reason my camera didn't take one. I tried to talk to some of the ones running things, however I was given the brush off as I was not one of their known crowd. I have experienced that a lot when going into Pa. for events. I really would have liked to had the chance to show them some good plowing done with an AC tractor and plow.
This John Deere model A had such a worn out plow that it would hardly scratch the surface. Most of the time even the front wheels of the plow were not on the ground. Here's a typical Ford 9N with a typical badly adjusted plow. Notice how the driver had to keep his hand on the lift lever as you see in all of the Ford sales literature as well as all the area that his plow would not even turn under the stubble. |

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Maybe the 9N has the optional plow lubricator that runs off the exhaust pipe......
