Picked up a non running Series IV D17 gas today,pretty sure the motor is toast.Question
is the motor the same in this as the rest of the D17 models as far as internals and

Oldest D-17's still had the WD-45 oil filter system. Chassis s/n 24,001 and up had full-flow oil filter.    Engine HP was the same for all series at 63 flywheel HP @ 1650 RPM.

Thanks,I have a E Gleaner engine with the full flow system that runs good so I guess
I can put that into the D17 and have about the same HP.

Yup, but I do believe you will need the governor of the tractor engine. Other than that it should bolt right in
