I found this on LSN. I've got enough bush hogs, but not one that will work on the B. Can anyone tell me anything about these mowers? It looks like it uses a hydraulic cylinder. Maybe I can get a manual device to raise and lower it. http://www.lsn.com/equipment/allis-chalmers-bush-hog/5801958.html

They are really good cutters but I wouldn't want to have to use it behind a B.

That is the main reason I was interested in it. I don't have any equipment for the B and a pull type cutter is all you can use. I don't know how heavy that bush hog is, and the B doesn't have a ton of power. The D10 would handle it I know, but I have a 3pt cutter for it.

If you don’t already have it, you’ll want to install a PTO overrun clutch. I had to have an ASAE adapter made for mine, mower sat way too close to the tractor without it.

What year is your B? I say it will. You might be surprised with the guts a B has. If worse comes to worse, just take a little smaller swath. Get it. You'll be glad you did.
I remember when I didn't have any implements for my B, and it was the worst feeling ever, to have a tractor but not be able to do anything with it. I was 11, and I would go out in the barn and just stare at it, because really that's about all I could do, other than just drive around the yard. Soon after my grandpa found a 6' belly sickle mower for it which put me in heaven, then later Dad bought an Oliver 2-12 plow, which I really enjoy using. I also use it to pull a trailer sometimes when doing yard cleanup/tree trimming. Being able to use your classic for something other than just parades is, to me, quite gratifying.

That 160 pull type should have a built in ORC. Its at the end of the drive shaft, before the rattle clutch. Still, as others have mentioned, B would have barely enough power...

Believe it or not it depends on what your trying to cut and how high ,  LOL Waist high thick grass with dull blades? Nope Clipping pasture? Yep Maintaining an area that you cut regularly? Yep Not having live power to get you through the tough spots hurts the B on that kind of work. At the farm we keep about 6 acres mowed, normally once a month and use a 6' Brush Hog. The D-15II is the primary power but I would not hesitate to put the B on it if the 15 was down, been done quite a few times over the years. I raise the mower up a few cranks and mow in low gear. The"cheat" if need be is as Creston said, move over and cut less

The AC ones have an over running clutch in them. You would be best off to have the 1 3/8" PTO shaft on the tractor, but can use an adapter. You can buy a manual turnbuckle to put in place of the cylinder. I did that when I pulled one with my WC. Run it high, multiple passes, and narrower than full width and you should be ok. AaronSEIA

I regularly mow with a 5 foot brush hog behind my C with a worksaver 3 point on it. It gets light in the front end if you try and carry the whole mower but with the top link adjusted right and the mower sitting on the caster wheel it does just fine. Sharp blades are your friend as there isn't a lot of horsepower to spare with a B or C engine. TJ

The parts book is online (guest user, free, no sign up) at AGCO parts books.
Looks like they had a manual option, and hydraulic.
I didn't immediately see an over run clutch in the book. Find it in the parts book, then ensure this mower has it. Could have been another option.
I think maybe you can flip the wheels around to get them to trail the mover and not stick out like it is currently set.
The B could do it, on light work. Not 3" trees in 4ft weeds.

it will cut a field that is 18- 24 inches deep.. Don't try trees as mentioned.. use a floor jack to lift and figure out where you want it, then just put a solid link where the cylinder goes.. always cut the same height... good first test.

My B has hydraulics, It just doesn't have a remote. It doesn't matter anyway. I checked the map to see were that town was (Lavinia), and it's way out in west TN. No where near me, I don't have time to go that far to check it out.
