Ok this has the Kohler engine 361.I just got done using the tiller . The engine stopped and will not start I tried it later when it had cooled down and still will not start. It turns over and tries to start just won’t . Any ideas I pulled the plug and cleaned it that is all I done . It does need overhauling uses a lot of oil but was running ok.When I was mowing and tilling it seemed to lose power and then speed up again.

Hi Dave.
The first thing that comes to mind is rings.
Worn rings equal very little to no compression and that leads to no combustion when the plug sparks, if it has that.
And you did say that it needs overhauling and uses a lot of oil.
Classic symptom of worn rings, my friend.
Have a good weekend.
How blessed we are by HIS GRACE!
