I use a 2007 Kubota L3430 with loader and rear blade for snow removal. Bought it from the local dealer with 3000 hours, has been perfect for the 2 years I have had it. Has a cab and heat which is wonderful for winter, and was about the price of a new BX with similar equipment. Granted I only get max 50 hours a year on the unit.
I like to have the 35+ horses for choring, even around the acreage. You can push snow banks back that creep out onto your driveway, which the smaller tractors would struggle with.
I have a 5015 AC (pretty heavy 18 HP diesel ), which is a great little mower tractor, but not much for winter as it is only 2wd.
I had a 3pt backhoe on the 170 for a while when were working around the house, landscaping and such. It was a Woods, Cat II hitch unit, and was heavy and pretty good. Bought it used, and sold it for what I had in it when we were finished with moving dirt. You need to be able to transfer weight from the back of the tractor to the backhoe for them to be very useful. I found I had to chain the hoe to the hitch or come up with some other linkage, otherwise the 3pt just lifted when you pushed down with the hoe. Not sure if this helps, but good luck.
